Date & Time

Meeting Time Zone Calculator

Convert one meeting time from a source UTC offset to a target UTC offset. Enter the date and time, pick both whole-hour offsets, and see the target local date and time plus the hour difference between the zones.

What this calculator does

The Meeting Time Zone Calculator estimates your result instantly from the values you enter, using standard date & time formulas. Convert one meeting time from a source UTC offset to a target UTC offset. Enter the date and time, pick both whole-hour offsets, and see the target local date and time plus the hour difference between the zones. Calculations run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server, and the output is an estimate rather than a certified or official figure.

About Meeting Time Zone Calculator

Pin down what a meeting time becomes in another zone. Enter the meeting's date and time, choose the source UTC offset it is stated in, and pick the target UTC offset you want it in. The tool converts the wall-clock time to UTC first, then shifts it into the target offset.

Both offsets are whole hours from UTC−12 to UTC+14, and the result also reports the hour gap between the two zones.

Formula & Mathematical Calculation

Calculation Method

  1. dp: raw.split('T')[0].split('-')
  2. y: +dp[0], mo = +dp[1], da = +dp[2], h = +tp[0], mi = +tp[1]
  3. utcMs: Date.UTC(y, mo - 1, da, h, mi) - source × 3600000
  4. targetDate: new Date(utcMs + target × 3600000)

Calculation Example

Set the Meeting Date & Time to 15 June 2025, 09:00, the Source UTC Offset to UTC-5, and the Target UTC Offset to UTC+1. The 09:00 source time is 14:00 UTC, and at UTC+1 that becomes Sun, 15 Jun 2025 15:00.

The Hours Difference box shows +6 h, since +1 minus −5 is 6 hours.

Key Benefits

  • Translates a single meeting time from one UTC offset into another in one step
  • Shows the target local date and time as a clear day, date, and 24-hour clock string
  • Reports the whole-hour difference between the source and target zones

Assumptions & Limitations

What the calculation assumes

  • Every value you enter is treated as an exact, known amount.
  • Any rate or interval you enter is assumed to hold for the whole period unless the form asks for it separately.
  • Results use standard published formulas and account only for the values entered above.
  • Rounding is applied for display; the underlying calculation uses your full precision.
  • Results are returned in the same units you enter, unless the tool states the output unit.

What it does not cover

  • Meeting Time Zone Calculator produces a calculated result for reference and learning, not a certified or official measurement.
  • Real-world outcomes differ when tolerances, rounding rules or local standards apply.
  • Definitions and standards vary by region and change over time; verify the convention that applies to your case.
  • Figures are only as accurate as the inputs you supply — check them before acting on the result.
  • For work where the result carries real consequences, confirm it against an authoritative source.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It uses the fixed whole-hour UTC offsets you select, so pick the offset that actually applies on the meeting date rather than expecting a DST switch.

Every whole-hour offset from UTC-12 through UTC+14 is available in both the source and target menus.

It subtracts the source offset from the target offset, so a target of +1 and a source of -5 give +6 hours.

The result is the target zone's local wall-clock time for that meeting instant, formatted as weekday, date, and 24-hour time.
