Reporting a calculator that looks wrong

This is the message we act on fastest, and corrections take priority over new tools. Four things make a report reproducible — without them we are usually guessing:

1. Which calculator, ideally the page address.
2. The exact values you entered, including the units or currency.
3. The result the page gave you.
4. The result you expected, and where that figure comes from if it is from a statement, a table or another tool.

Choose Bug Report as the subject so it is easy to spot. If you would rather check the arithmetic yourself first, most calculators publish the formula they use on the page, and our methodology page explains where those formulas come from and what the results deliberately leave out.

What else the form is for

• Calculator Feedback — a missing input, an assumption that does not match how the figure is normally worked out, or a calculator you expected to find and did not.
• General Inquiry — questions about how a tool works, or about how we handle data.
• Partnership Opportunity — business correspondence.

Two things we genuinely cannot do

We cannot recover a calculation you have already run: results are worked out in your browser and never reach us, so nothing you typed is stored anywhere for us to look up. And there are no user accounts on this site, so there is no login, password or subscription for us to change. Anything you send arrives by email only — please do not include account numbers or other details you would not put in an ordinary email.
