Crypto Compound Interest Calculator
Project crypto holdings grown at a steady APY with compounding over a number of years.
What this calculator does
The Crypto Compound Interest Calculator estimates your result instantly from the values you enter, using standard crypto & digital assets formulas. Project crypto holdings grown at a steady APY with compounding over a number of years. Calculations run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server, and the output is an estimate for planning rather than financial advice.

About Crypto Compound Interest Calculator
The Crypto Compound Interest Calculator projects a Principal through an entered APY percentage, Years, and Compounds per Year. The shipped callback converts the percentage to a decimal, divides it by the integer compounding frequency, and raises the periodic growth factor to frequency multiplied by years. It reports Final Value and Interest Earned, where Interest Earned is the projected ending value minus the original Principal.
The APY label requires a specific reading: the implementation treats the entered percentage as a nominal annual rate divided across periods rather than applying it as a conventional effective annual yield. Compounds per Year is parsed as an integer and must be at least one. This tool does not retrieve crypto prices, rates, deposits, withdrawals, or protocol information, and it holds every entered value constant throughout the projection.
Formula & Mathematical Calculation
Final Value = Principal × (1 + r ÷ n)n × Years
Interest Earned = Final Value − Principal
Principal is the starting dollar amount. The variable r is the entered APY percentage divided by 100, and n is Compounds per Year parsed as an integer. The callback divides r by n to create the periodic rate and uses n × Years as the exponent. Despite the APY label, this is nominal-rate periodic compounding, not direct effective-APY treatment. The calculator requires n to be at least one; otherwise it displays an inline error and returns no result.
Calculation Example
Example: Enter Principal of $5,000, APY of 8%, Years of 3, and Compounds per Year of 12. The callback converts 8% to r = 0.08 and uses n = 12, producing 36 total periods. Substitution gives $5,000 × (1 + 0.08 ÷ 12)12 × 3 = $6,351.19 after shipped rounding. Subtracting the $5,000 Principal gives $1,351.19. The result panel therefore displays Final Value: $6351.19 and Interest Earned: $1351.19. This illustrates the code’s frequency-divided treatment of the APY-labelled input; it does not represent a changing market rate or add deposits, fees, token prices, or withdrawals.
Key Benefits
- Models periodic compounding at a user-selected annual frequency.
- Separates projected ending value from interest earned.
- Supports fractional years while parsing compounding frequency as an integer.
- Makes the shipped nominal-rate treatment explicit despite the APY label.

Assumptions & Limitations
What the calculation assumes
- Every value you enter is treated as an exact, known amount.
- Rates and contributions are assumed to stay constant for the whole period unless the form asks for them separately.
- Results use standard financial formulas and ignore fees, penalties and promotional terms that are not entered above.
- Inflation, tax changes and market volatility are not modelled unless a field for them is provided.
- Amounts are unit-agnostic: results are returned in the same currency you enter.
What it does not cover
- Crypto Compound Interest Calculator produces estimates for education and planning, not a quote, offer or professional advice.
- Real-world outcomes differ when fees, taxes, rounding rules or provider-specific terms apply.
- Local regulations and tax rules vary by country and change over time; verify current rules for your jurisdiction.
- Figures are only as accurate as the inputs you supply — check them before acting on the result.
- For decisions with lasting financial impact, confirm the numbers with a qualified professional.
