About NFT Profit Calculator
The NFT Profit Calculator uses Sale Price, Mint / Buy Cost, and Fees + Royalties, with each slash- or plus-delimited label representing one actual control. It subtracts the complete Mint / Buy Cost and the complete combined Fees + Royalties amount from Sale Price to display Profit. It then adds the two cost controls to create the basis and divides Profit by that basis to display ROI.
The calculator does not derive royalties from a rate or separate marketplace fees, gas, and royalties into different inputs. It also does not retrieve marketplace data, currency conversions, or tax information. When Mint / Buy Cost plus Fees + Royalties is not greater than zero, Profit still displays but ROI becomes an em dash because the shipped callback does not divide by a nonpositive basis. The tool therefore measures only the entered sale and costs.
Formula & Mathematical Calculation
Profit = Sale Price − Mint / Buy Cost − (Fees + Royalties)
Basis = Mint / Buy Cost + (Fees + Royalties)
ROI (%) = Profit ÷ Basis × 100
Sale Price is the entered dollar proceeds. Mint / Buy Cost is one acquisition-cost control, not two variables, and Fees + Royalties is one combined dollar control. The callback subtracts both complete cost entries once to obtain Profit and adds them once to obtain Basis. ROI is displayed only when Basis is greater than zero. With a zero or negative basis, Profit remains available while ROI is rendered as an em dash.
Calculation Example
Example: Enter Sale Price of $5,000, Mint / Buy Cost of $1,000, and Fees + Royalties of $400. Subtracting both complete cost inputs gives $5,000 − $1,000 − $400 = $3,600 Profit. The ROI basis is $1,000 + $400 = $1,400. Dividing $3,600 by $1,400 and multiplying by 100 gives 257.142857…%, which the shipped formatter rounds to 257.14%. The labels display Profit: $3600 and ROI: 257.14 %. The $400 entry is one combined amount, not separate fee and royalty controls. The calculator does not fetch marketplace charges, gas costs, royalty schedules, exchange rates, or tax rules.

Assumptions & Limitations
What the calculation assumes
- Every value you enter is treated as an exact, known amount.
- Rates and contributions are assumed to stay constant for the whole period unless the form asks for them separately.
- Results use standard financial formulas and ignore fees, penalties and promotional terms that are not entered above.
- Inflation, tax changes and market volatility are not modelled unless a field for them is provided.
- Amounts are unit-agnostic: results are returned in the same currency you enter.
What it does not cover
- NFT Profit Calculator produces estimates for education and planning, not a quote, offer or professional advice.
- Real-world outcomes differ when fees, taxes, rounding rules or provider-specific terms apply.
- Local regulations and tax rules vary by country and change over time; verify current rules for your jurisdiction.
- Figures are only as accurate as the inputs you supply — check them before acting on the result.
- For decisions with lasting financial impact, confirm the numbers with a qualified professional.
