Calculation Example
Driving 12,000 miles a year with an EV at 3.5 mi/kWh and electricity at $0.15/kWh, versus a gas car at 28 MPG and gas at $3.50/gal:
EV Annual Cost = 12,000 ÷ 3.5 × 0.15 = $514.29. Gas Annual Cost = 12,000 ÷ 28 × 3.50 = $1500. Annual Savings (EV) = 1500 − 514.29 = $985.71.
