About Fuel Savings Calculator
Enter your annual miles, your current MPG, a new MPG, and the fuel price. The tool works out the gallons used at each MPG, subtracts to find the gallons saved, and multiplies by the price to show the yearly dollar savings.
It is free and runs in your browser with no sign-up.
Formula & Mathematical Calculation
Annual Savings = f(Annual Miles, Current MPG, New MPG, Fuel Price ($/gallon))
Calculated according to standard finance formulas implemented in the calculator core.
Calculation Example
Over 12,000 miles, moving from 22 MPG to 32 MPG with fuel at $3.50/gallon:
Gallons Saved = 12,000 ÷ 22 − 12,000 ÷ 32 = 170.45 gal. Annual Savings = 170.45 × 3.50 = $596.59.
